In this post we will teach you how you can install and run Steam Games Platform in your OpenMandriva Linux. You have no idea how it will be easy.
- Steam is a Gaming Store of Valve Corporation and has a lot of titles running in Linux. Last 2 years Valve started a huge movement to develop a lot of games in Linux Environment (for our luck!). To start install Steam the first step will be switch your user to root mode. Open a terminal and execute:
- Now we will install Steam. OpenMandriva Team offer a complete and out-of-box solution to install Steam. Are you doubting? Execute the following command:
Shell12urpmi.update -aurpmi --auto steam
Note: Probably you will not have questions to answer (because of –auto parameter), but if you have, please see images below (without –auto parameter). You only have to write Yes to confirm installation. If you be asked about select some library version or type, press enter do select the default option or select one of the options if you know what are you doing.
After finish, close this terminal.
- Open a new terminal and execute below command:
It will open Steam Platorm. Wait the client auto update.
And after that click in respective checkbox to accept the Vale Corporation terms and click in OK.
- To finish you will do the most difficult step:
Login using your Steam account to have a F U N!
